This was written less with the intention to show it to an audience than for my own amusement, but after showing it to a a friend, we came to the joint conclusion that (a) it does have merit as a story in itself, and (b) even if it didn't, it's hot and others might be interested in reading it anyway. Just be aware that this is by far the most idficcy smut fic I’ve ever written: we’re talking explicit tentacle sex involving pre-canon Londo with human lady OC, which is… every bit as self-insert as it sounds like, so please don't judge this by any other standards than what's advertised on the tin. :) Apart from that, hope you enjoy!

Six Impossible Things Before Breakfast (4174 words)

Additional Tags: Plot What Plot/Porn Without Plot, Orgasm Delay/Denial, Dom/sub Undertones, Tentacle Sex, Femdom

Random note: I am extremely proud of these tags, I’ll have you know! And it says so much about me and how normal Centauri anatomy has become to me, that I didn’t even realize “tentacle sex” might be a thing that conceivably needed to be tagged until I was hitting the post button on AO3, haha.

So while on tumblr, I ended up writing two short Londo/G'Kar ficlets that I only now remembered to post at the AO3. The first one is a short humorous piece with a sprinkling of angst, the second is gratuitous hurt/comfort dealing with one of my favorite tropes. Neither are particularly deep, but I enjoyed writing them so here they are, for your reading pleasure.

Summary: What really happened during those sixteen long years in which Londo waited for the prophecies to come true? A multi-chapter story, indended to bridge the gap between Londo's ascension to the throne and Centauri Prime's eventual liberation from the Drakh.

So, this is it! I just posted the last chapter of the fic that consumed my life for the past four months, ever since I gave in to that crazy impulse to write the one B5 story I've always wanted to see written. Well, 'consumed my life' is probably still an understatement. If there's anything that I learned throughout this, it's that I'm probably not cut out to be a writer - that is to say, writing is my passion and my joy but it's also my addiction, and the way I've been living these past few months to get this thing written... let's just say it wasn't very healthy, not for me and not for the people living with me and who were so kind to put up with me throughout this. It's still an experience I wouldn't have missed for the world, though. And I think I can say that, of all the stories I have written and may yet write in the future, this is the one story I hope I can be remembered by. Because every emotion that's in there is real, in some way, and mine, and because I am so fond of the story in itself and so proud of it too. So (I'm getting emotional now, dammit) if there ever comes a time that I need to leave fandom, and I hope that time won't come for many years yet... this is the story that I hope people will associate with me. It's by no means perfect, partly because I didn't get a beta while writing it (which I still think was a good call, or I would never have finished it) and partly because of the deadlines I had to keep setting myself to just get through it... But I think it still manages to do what I wanted it to, and even plot-wise, the puzzle pieces fit together pretty well with only a few ragged edges, so... yeah. I think I can safely feel proud of this thing.

And I really hope this won't sound presumptuous, but thank you so much to everyone who cheered me on through any part of this, whether it was with a few words or a thousand, and whether you actually read the story or were just passing through. It made all the difference in the world, believe me. And to everyone who was waiting to read this until you were sure I'd actually be able to finish it (which I don't blame you for, for a while I wasn't all that sure I would either :) )... Here you go, I hope it was worth the wait!

amatara: (Timov and Londo)
I spent over a week editing this chapter before I no longer felt underwhelmed by it, but I've finally managed to finish it, whew! Is this something like end-of-story blues? I’m down to the final few chapters, and of course there’s a downside to writing a WIP: inevitably, at some point you find out that your story has gaps it’s just too late to fix. No huge plot holes so far, but a lot of smaller things, like having spent too much / little time on a certain character or plot point, that kind of stuff. But I’ve set up the plot a certain way, and with just a few more chapters to go, there’s increasingly little space left to maneuver. I just hope I’ll get it right. Only two more big chapters to go before we’re done! *flails*

Second chapter has been posted on AO3! The rest of the story is slowly starting to take shape in my mind, although that also means I'm starting to realize just how many loose ends are going to need tying up before it's all done, eep!  *takes deep breaths* One chapter at a time, and we'll get there...

As always, any feedback or discussion is welcome!

(All her life Timov had loathed being a nobleman's wife, a pretty trinket to parade in front of others. She'd long stopped thinking of herself as pretty, but the rest was no less true today than it had ever been. Except where once she had defied Londo openly, flaunting her insolence for everyone to see, right now she felt strangely protective of him. Centauri emperors did not generally lead long, fruitful lives.)

Aaaannnnd we have liftoff! :)

I just finished and posted the first chapter of the B5 post-series story I was brainstorming about earlier this week. I honestly have no idea how quickly I'm going to be able to make progress on this, but I'll be trying to have the next chapter ready for you in a week or so. *knocks on wood* In the meantime, I hope you enjoy this first effort!

Title: Though I Walk Through the Valley
Fandom: Babylon 5
Summary: So what happened during those sixteen long years in which Londo waited for the prophecies to come true? An attempt to bridge the gap between Londo's ascension to the throne and Centauri Prime's eventual liberation from the Drakh.
Characters: Londo Mollari, Vir Cotto. Expected to appear in later chapters: Timov, G'Kar, Delenn, Lennier, possibly others.
Category/Rating: gen-ish (with some background pairings), PG-13
Author's Notes: This is basically an alternate version of the events post-Fall of Centauri Prime; alternate, that is, to Peter David's Legions of Fire trilogy. I do not presume to match Mr. David in terms of writing skill, but I did miss a number of things in his novels, which led me to try to write my own take on events. I am not considering the trilogy to be canon, and no knowledge of the novels is required to read this. The story takes off during the season-five episode The Fall of Centauri Prime and covers the sixteen-year period until Londo's eventual death (so yes, it will have - canon - character death eventually).
Thanks to: All of you who were so enthusiastic at the prospect of this story that I couldn't *not* take the plunge and give it a try!

As always, any feedback or discussion is welcome! Even more so because this is a work in progress, meaning I can actually try to incorporate suggestions and requests.

(It was clear from the set of Vir's shoulders that he was afraid, and that Londo was the cause of it. Not simply because he was about to become Emperor, but for what it might change between them. What it had already changed.)

amatara: (Londo and G'Kar - armies cannot stand)
Hi there! I'm still here, and doing pretty much okay. Real-life hecticness (is that even a proper noun?) keeps preventing me from being anything close to active on here, but please know I haven't vanished into thin air! What I have been is thwarted by tendinitis (wrist brace! antiinflammatory meds! bring 'em on!) which in theory means I should be typing as little as possible, but ah, seems I don't have that discipline. Anyway, I've had yesterday off and was struck by the sudden need to write something, anything, to make me feel part of fandom again. So [livejournal.com profile] mithen, remember the promise I once made to write you a birthday story, dealing with Londo and G'Kar's first meeting? I know it's been ages, and as a birthday gift this is ridiculously late (or early!) but I finally got round to it. Please forgive the delay, and I hope you won't mind I twisted your prompt just a little to satisfy my own angsty cravings. :)

Set in mid-season 2, just after the episode "Soul Mates" (aka the one with Londo and his wives).

Again, not strictly a drabble, but hey, you try channeling Londo into a measly 100 words! This guy just talks too darned much (and don't we love him for it ;)).

Author's Note: While I read Peter David's Legions of Fire trilogy, I don't generally consider it as canon, so I only borrowed very loosely from it. There's a reference to The Lost Tales in there as well, but nothing that makes knowledge of the movie essential.
Disclaimer: JMS owns them, I'm just showing my love for them.

Any of you familiar with this thing called Cubeecraft? For those of you who aren't (and you should; ZOMG you should!), a Cubee is a paper toy that you can assemble yourself using nothing but a home printer, a pair of scissors, and an internet connection. Husband discovered them while browsing for Christmas gifts, and I've been flailing about them ever since, because... Oh! *dies of the cuteness*.

Anyway, there's a bunch of Cubee templates on the web based on popular fandom characters, nearly all free to download. Star Trek, Star Wars, Dr Who - you name it! Fancy a Dalek Cubee? Here it is! Or is Mr. Spock more your thing? Indiana Jones, you say? No problem. And if you're a Star Wars fan, this little Yoda here will make your heart melt into a puddle!

So - cubees of every type and fandom, no? Well, almost... Except, no Babylon 5 Cubees! *sniffles* All, right, I did find this - admittedly sweet - version of Kosh... but that was it. No Minbari Cubees with teensy-tiny headbones, no mini-Narns or Centauri, not even a Cubeefied John Sheridan! So, what's a (fan)girl gotta do then? Simple: make her own! *g*

Conclusion of tale: last Friday, armed with just Photoshop and a rickety computer mouse - no fancy digital drawing tablets in this house, alas - I made a Londo Cubee! Took me ages to get just the template right, never mind folding it afterwards, but it was very addictive and not nearly as nerve-wrecking as I'd hoped. And I needed a break from my Yuletide story anyway! :)

Also, the cubee is made of cute. If I may say so myself. *squeals*

Wanna see it? Londo Cubee craves attention! )

If there's anyone who'd like the template, please, feel free to grab via the picture link! (And if you could drop me a line if you do, that would be lovely.)

Vir Cotto is, to me, a joy both to watch and to write, his character being one that most of us can identify with. He starts out as a perfectly ordinary (at least, from a human point of view; less so from a Centauri one) person, forced by exordinary circumstances to do things he never thought himself capable of. I love him dearly as a character in his own right, but perhaps even more in the context of his friendship with Londo. This fic describes a missing scene between the two of them, set near the resolution of the Cartagia arc.
