Just a brief note to say I don't seem to be getting my LJ notifications. Not via email, and not via LJ messages either for the comments on here. *gulps* No idea how long this has been going on, but - in case anyone is still waiting for an answer, please forgive. I'll try to get back to you as soon as I know you, um, sent something in the first place. :)

How do these LJ things usually solve themselves? Do the notifications pop in eventually? Or should I consider them lost forever? *panics*

Ugh, in my experience LJ usually gets flaky like this maybe twice a year--usually it's only for a couple of batches of people based on which server you're on, but right now it seems to be everyone. That's almost better, I guess, because everyone knows things are a mess right now and people are less likely to get upset if something gets missed right now. Usually you will end up with a huge pile of notifications dumped on you much later, but obviously yeah, some of them float out into space, never to be seen again. :( It makes me itchy and paranoid that I've blown someone off! But I've gotten your comments on the meme--I suppose I'll respond in brief here that I'd be tickled to look at the story you put aside due to Yuletide! I'll write more about language on the meme itself later and hope the notification gets to you. :)

Got the notification! *cheers*
I've read about those issues on other people's LJs, but this is the first time it's actually happened to me. I panicked big time because I'd just sent a message to someone to ask for a Yuletide fic beta, and I didn't get the message in my Sent folder, and notifications didn't work, and... *wail* But it's all right now. :)
About that story - I'd be thrilled to have it looked at by you! No idea when I'll manage to finish it, as I'm going to need until the 21st to tweak the Yuletide fic, but you'll be the first to hear!

Also: Christmas on a ship - Oooo! Sounds gorgeous!(Where does the ship go to?)

I got all my notifications as well! Yay! After we crawl out from under Yuletide, then. :)

The ship goes to the Bahamas! It is kind of an experiment in an alternative Christmas that doesn't drain my sister's time and energy as much... I'm hoping there will be time to write, but we'll see!

How are you going to read our messages if you aren't getting messages??

I switched my e-mail notification setting on LJ to my gmail account, which seemed to work. It was v. frustrating, and I thought it was just me! I am apparently solipsistic.

I tried your suggestion (switching to another email account and then back again) and things seem to be back in working order today! Phew! And thanks. :)
