The Great Big LJ vs DW vs AO3 poll

Even if, admittedly, I haven't been posting a lot, I have the impression from the Livejournal stats that not many on my flist are still reading me there. On the other hand I have no idea how many of you are following me on Dreamwidth, only that lately I tend to get more comments here than on LJ, so here's the question: how would any of you feel if I stopped cross-posting from DW for some or all of my posts?

I have a paid account at LJ now, but I might consider switching taking a paid DW account instead when it expires. And obviously if everyone is reading me on DW (or wouldn't mind reading me there in the future) the added value of cross-posting to LJ becomes pretty thin.

Same, in fact, with posting full fics here instead of just linking to AO3. I quite like having the stories here, and I really enjoy getting feedback on my own journal, but if everyone skips over to AO3 anyway I might as well save myself some time and just post a link. I'd really like to know what you people think about that.

Apparently one can't put up a poll on DW without a paid account, so I set one up on LJ instead. You'd do me a huge favor if you'd just hop over to the poll and tick a few boxes there. Thanks so much y'all!

I wouldn't mind, but post your fics there. DW can give some depressing radio silence for fics, especially in small fandoms -- same with Ao3. I always get my most comments on LJ.

But I do read your regular posts here. I think my LJ list got a little too large and diverse in their interests that aren't related to what I'm interested in anymore.

Oh, and I only say 'post your fics there!' so you never get discouraged and keep that Albert/Cooper fire burning in that awesome way you do. :D :D :D

My lists of LJ and DW followers are both equally tiny, so that probably makes little difference, but I guess you're right. At least on LJ it still seems a little easier to draw in some readers by crossposting to comms and such; on DW what comms there are seem to be less active (or at least that's the impression I have). I still tend do do most of my reading on LJ, though more out of habit than anything else. And I'm pretty sure I won't have the heart to switch over to DW entirely, though I might take a paid account there rather than on LJ. But that just means less icons and such, doesn't it? I think I could live with that. :)

And thanks for the heads-up. In terms of writing these past weeks and months have been absolutely worthless, what with the move and work and everything, but I've been starting to feel that familiar little tingle that says 'I want to do something creative again' and for me that usually means writing fic, so... there's hope!

(By the way, I don't want to make you feel like I'm pushing it, but I am curious - did you ever scrape up the courage to read the Big Bad BOB saga? Or should I consider going for the lighter fare in future writing efforts? :) )
