wychwood: G'Kar is lost in translation (B5 - G'Kar translation)
From: [personal profile] wychwood
I tend to believe that Timov and Londo always do still love one another - if only because you can't hurt someone that much without love being involved! The vulnerability, you know? Which isn't to say that they're "in love", or that they like each other, which is pretty clearly not the case... Just, yeah.

Have you read the Centauri trilogy books? IIRC Timov has some page-time there, although not very much.

They say that the difference between a happy story and a sad one is where you put the ending, and B5 did like to tip that balance, didn't it? But most of the characters had a decent share of happiness amid the tragedies; Londo is something of an exception there, admittedly. I believe in this ending, though, more than I would have done in a happier one - as you say above, Londo lives through 20 years of hell on nothing but some memories, the thought of Vir succeeding him, and the knowledge a friend will end it for him, and we-the-reader always know that; the most we can hope for is this moment of trust and honesty. But Timov will find the happiness that is available to her, and live the heck out of it, that's what I think. *passes the box of tissues*
