Sorry for the confusion - I did mean it geographically, as in the part of Germany that's nearest the Belgian border. In any case, I was too young when the Wall fell to have been accustomed to the East/West distinction in that sense.
Conventions: I've only been to FedCon in Bonn a number of times, and there I'd say all ages and both sexes were represented in more or less equal numbers. But perhaps now, with the ST: Reboot hype, the youngsters will come flooding back in, who knows?
