Well, yes, I suppose it's not specific to a single platform like AO3, but that the general commenting culture is changing as well. And I'm far from blameless myself - I never posted and/or commented that much on DW or LJ, and lately the only thing I still do online (apart from a bit of messing around on tumblr) is post fanfic, which I admit isn't very conductive to inspiring conversations. But I do find myself missing the days when communication was slightly more... effortless, you know?
