About Vir remaining insignificant in the eyes of his people... Actually, I'd like to believe they really did love him while he reigned, in that he did things that were good and very significant, but did them in a - exactly what you said - quiet, selfless way, without fuss or scandal. Which, in the long run, wouldn't have gotten him a big place in the history books, but then I don't think Vir would have wanted that anyway. In fact, what Vir told Londo after killing Cartagia stuck in my head the entire time I was writing this fic: "Did you know, all I ever wanted was a good job, maybe a small title, nothing fancy... a wife I could love, maybe even one that could actually love someone like me?" He deserved to have all of that, so much, so I'd like to think he could have had it even as Emperor. *hugs Vir*
