Thank you! I don't often write humor, definitely don't do a lot of fluff (angst addict, y'know :) ) so writing this one was a pretty wild leap for me. I'm thrilled to hear you think it turned out well, and that you enjoyed the bits of angst I threw in there. I get you entirely - I also like my fluff just a little awkward and/or painful, and this was a bit of both. Incidentally, while I made up the bits about Albert's family, the story about Cooper's mother is actually (semi-)canon, in the sense it's mentioned in one of the TP novels (Coop's autobiography, 'My Life, My Tapes'). Seems that poor Dale's childhood was at least as screwed up as his adulthood. Personally, between the two of them, I'd be voting for Albert as the least screwed up.
Doing case fic where the focus would be on the case itself would require, you know, plotting. *g* Which I don't often have the discipline for (except when I'm really obsessed by a fic, like with the long post-finale one) so I'm glad you like the less-plot-heavy kind as well.
