As for Small Mercies, I don't understand why it isn't more popular because it is a lovely story and the ending is just heartbreakingly perfect. Don't be afraid to re-read it.

As for titles, they are always hard to find, especially in fanfic where you can't fall back on the name of the main character/setting/mac guffin. I don't think there are any tips to good title crafting. It's a skill you have to be born with.
