No, the "hurt" part is important too. In part because having comfort without hurt doesn't make a lot of sense -it would feel a bit contrived, I think. And in part because, well... I don't really know. There is certainly an appeal to hurt our favourites characters, but I never quite understood where it comes from. I guess it's just part of the standard fangirl mindset or something...
G'Kar and Lyta : I can't remember any fic on the top of my head, but there's the short story by JMS himself, "Genius Loci". It was published in Amazing Stories some years ago and may be quite hard to find online. I have it on my hard drive, though. I could send it to you by email if you want. There's a Londo story that's quite good too.
