Thank you! Cooper is one of those characters I find very hard to write, so I'm glad you think I did him justice here!

As for Coop's guilt being 'obsessive' - I'm not sure if that would be the word I'd use. I sort of tried to portray this as not just a right-or-wrong story, where Albert as the voice of reason is right, and Cooper as being driven by emotion is wrong. I think they're both right, and both acting from their hearts, so to speak; and that of course Cooper would feel as deeply about this as he does, even if it's basically unjustified, because it's the human thing to do and that's just the person he is. And of course Albert would focus on drawing blame away from Cooper, because that's the human thing to do for him. They're really not all that different in how they deal with this, is kind of what I wanted to say. If I'm making any sense here. :)
